Afrimoll
A community-driven marketplace for African products and services inside Russia.
There are tens of thousands of African students, workers and families in Russia, and a diaspora economy that has no shared storefront. Sellers reach buyers through scattered Telegram channels and word of mouth; buyers have no way to find them at all.
Afrimoll started from a problem its founder lives inside. African entrepreneurs in Russia — merchants, cooks, barbers, tailors, importers — run real businesses with real demand, and almost none of it is discoverable. A student new to Kazan or Moscow finds a supplier the same way people did thirty years ago: by asking around.
The marketplace does two things at once. It sells products, and it books services — because a diaspora economy is not only goods. A hairdresser, a caterer and a translator need to be found on the same shelf as a food importer, and a platform that only does e-commerce leaves half the economy outside.
It is built to put money back into African businesses operating in Russia rather than extracting from them, and to give sellers a route to customers who are actively looking for exactly what they sell.
Afrimoll was submitted to the UN SDG Action Awards 2026 under Heroes of Tomorrow (Resilience).
